Boating with Captain Darren felt like boating with a friend. He made us feel right at home from the start; very friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. He explained where he planned to take us, and we loved the route. He surprised us throughout the trip with beautiful sights and interesting information. Seeing the area from the Intracoastal Waterway and Cape Fear River was fantastic. The highlight for my wife and me was Captain Darren showing us eagles along the waterway. We’ll definitely be booking again with 5 More Minutes Charters!

We had a lovely family outing with Captain Darren and Julie. Five stars for Communication and flexibility, since we needed to make a change due to weather. They were patient instructors for us and our two children who were new to fishing. We also enjoyed having Angie the Dog on board. 5MM offered rates much less than other charters we contacted We highly recommend and would use them again should we return to the area. It was the highlight of our spring break trip.

We had the most wonderful experience with 5 More Minutes Charters today as we honored our dad and spread his ashes at sea. Captain Darren and his wife, Julie, created such a peaceful, thoughtful, and comforting morning for our family. From the moment we arrived, every detail was handled with care — warm coffee and donuts, fresh flowers, and even special urns to make the morning feel truly special. The boat itself was immaculate, and the ride out to sea was incredibly smooth and serene — the perfect setting to say, “See you later.” If you are looking for a charter for a memorial or even just a beautiful day on the water, I cannot recommend them enough. They truly go above and beyond to make the experience meaningful and unforgettable!

I don’t think I can say enough good things about our experience with Captain Darren and Julie with 5 More Minutes Charters. We booked an ash scattering ceremony to lay our father to rest and Julie suggested a sunrise service. It was absolutely incredible. Julie made the scheduling process easy and she handled all of the details even down to the warm blankets, coffee and donuts. We were blessed with a gorgeous morning… a full, setting moon, ideal weather, a gorgeous sunrise, and a magical dolphin sighting. I don’t think the experience could have been more perfect. I would highly recommend 5 More Minutes Charters!

Our family of four had a terrific boat ride! This tour is a great value, easy to find, easy to enjoy, and educational. Captain Darren, Julie, and Miss Angie were all kind, welcoming, and fun to be with. We'd do it again and recommend it to others!

My wife and I had a great experience with Julie and Darrin on the sunset cruise. Julie was very friendly and engaging and full of fan facts regarding the Southport/Oak Island/Bald Head area. We had a beautiful early evening for the cruise and Darrin took us down the inter coastal before heading over to the Atlantic side of Oak Island for the sunset which was absolutely beautiful. We also made a new friend in Angie, their well-mannered and friendly pooch. Just a super relaxing and easy fun time on the water which I would highly recommend!
